Overview

This is a **fixed-dose combination** of two small molecule drugs: **propranolol** and **acetylsalicylic acid (ASA, also known as aspirin)**. The combination is investigated or used for its additive effects on platelet aggregation in patients with cardiovascular risk, particularly after myocardial infarction or with stable angina pectoris. Propranolol is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocker, exerting antihypertensive, antianginal, and antiarrhythmic effects by reducing heart rate, contractility, and blood pressure. Acetylsalicylic acid is a non-selective cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor that provides antiplatelet, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic actions. Together, the combination has an additive antiaggregatory effect on platelets, reducing pathological platelet aggregation more than either agent alone, which is beneficial in the secondary prevention of cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction[1][3].
