Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Proscavax is a therapeutic cancer vaccine developed by OncBioMune Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of prostate cancer. The vaccine is a combination product consisting of the prostate-specific antigen (PSA) as the target antigen, along with two cytokines, Interleukin-2 (IL-2) and Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), which serve as biological adjuvants to enhance the immune response. Proscavax is designed to stimulate the patient's immune system to recognize and eliminate PSA-expressing malignant cells. It has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for patients with localized prostate cancer, particularly those under active surveillance, to determine its efficacy in slowing disease progression and increasing PSA doubling time.
