Overview

PS + CBMNC is a combination therapy consisting of pulmonary surfactant (PS) and cord blood mononuclear cells (CBMNC). Pulmonary surfactant is a substance used to reduce surface tension in the lungs, commonly administered to preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome. Cord blood mononuclear cells are a heterogeneous population of immune and progenitor cells derived from umbilical cord blood, including hematopoietic stem cells, mesenchymal stem cells, and endothelial progenitor cells. The combination aims to leverage the lung-protective effects of surfactant with the regenerative and immunomodulatory properties of cord blood-derived mononuclear cells. This approach has been investigated for neonatal conditions such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm infants[9][3][7].
