Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Comtusi Pilek & Alergi is a combination pharmaceutical product developed by Combiphar for the symptomatic relief of cold symptoms and nasal respiratory allergies, such as nasal congestion, sneezing, and rhinorrhea. It is formulated as an oral syrup containing the first-generation antihistamine triprolidine hydrochloride and the sympathomimetic decongestant pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. Triprolidine acts as an antagonist at the histamine H1 receptor to alleviate allergic symptoms like sneezing and runny nose, while pseudoephedrine acts as an agonist at alpha-adrenergic receptors to induce vasoconstriction in the nasal mucosa, thereby reducing swelling and relieving nasal congestion.
