Overview

PsiK+ is an investigational, genetically engineered psilocybin-based therapeutic being developed by Empyrean Neuroscience to treat neuropsychiatric and other central nervous system disorders. It is designed as a modified form of psilocybin in which targeted genetic changes to the producing organism alter the psilocybin analog profile, with the goal of optimizing psychedelic efficacy while improving safety and tolerability compared with naturally occurring or chemically synthesized psilocybin. As a serotonergic psychedelic, PsiK+ is expected to act primarily via agonism at cortical serotonin 5‑HT2A receptors and downstream modulation of neural circuits involved in mood, cognition, and perception, and is currently in early clinical development.
