Overview

Psilocybin + zolpidem is a combination of two pharmacologically distinct agents. Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound that acts primarily as an agonist at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors, leading to altered perception, cognition, and mood. It has been investigated for the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders[1][3]. Zolpidem is a non-benzodiazepine hypnotic agent (commonly known by the brand name Ambien) that acts as an agonist at the GABA-A receptor complex, specifically binding to the benzodiazepine-1 (BZ1) receptor subtype, resulting in sedative and hypnotic effects used for short-term management of insomnia[4][5]. There are no approved pharmaceutical products or clinical trials combining these two drugs; their co-administration would be considered experimental and may pose significant risks due to additive central nervous system depressant effects.
