Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PSORI-CM01 + calcipotriol is a combination therapy for psoriasis vulgaris, consisting of oral administration of the Chinese herbal medicine formula PSORI-CM01 and topical application of calcipotriol. PSORI-CM01 is a traditional Chinese herbal formulation with reported antipsoriatic pharmacological activity, while calcipotriol is a synthetic vitamin D3 analogue used topically to treat plaque psoriasis. The combination has been studied in randomized controlled trials as an adjunctive treatment for moderate-to-severe psoriasis vulgaris, aiming to improve clinical outcomes such as reduction in Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI) scores and relapse rates compared to standard therapy alone[1][2][3]. Calcipotriol acts primarily by binding to the vitamin D receptor on keratinocytes and immune cells, modulating gene expression related to cell differentiation and proliferation[6][7]. The mechanism of action for PSORI-CM01 is less well defined but involves immunomodulatory effects attributed to its herbal components.
