Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PT403 + PT404 is a paired pipeline program developed by Peptron, a South Korean biotechnology company, utilizing their proprietary SmartDepot™ technology to create sustained-release formulations of semaglutide and tirzepatide. PT403 (SR-Semaglutide) is a long-acting Glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, while PT404 (SR-Tirzepatide) is a dual GLP-1 and Gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist. Both assets utilize biodegradable PLGA microspheres to enable once-monthly or once-every-two-months dosing, significantly extending the duration of action compared to current weekly injectables like Wegovy or Mounjaro. The program is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes and Obesity, with a Korea Phase 1 IND filing for PT403 planned for 2026.
