Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PURIAM110 is a botanical dietary supplement developed under the sponsorship of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) for the management of pre-diabetes and non-insulin-dependent type 2 diabetes mellitus. It consists of a 1:1 mixture of bitter orange fruits (Fructus Aurantii) and mulberry leaves (Folium Mori), administered orally. The supplement is designed to lower blood glucose concentrations and improve related metabolic parameters, including total cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol. It has been evaluated in a Phase II/III randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial (ISRCTN44779824) conducted at Oriental Medical Hospitals in South Korea, targeting adults aged 18–65 to prevent the progression of pre-diabetes and manage diabetic symptoms.
