Overview

Q702 + pembrolizumab is an investigational combination therapy being studied primarily in advanced solid tumors, including esophageal, gastric/gastroesophageal junction, hepatocellular, and cervical cancers. **Q702** is an orally available, selective small-molecule inhibitor targeting three receptor tyrosine kinases: Axl, Mer, and colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF1R). These kinases are implicated in tumor immune evasion, resistance mechanisms, and promotion of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment likely through macrophage and myeloid-derived cell pathways. Inhibition of these kinases by Q702 is designed to restore innate immune function, enhance antigen presentation, and sensitize tumors to immunotherapies. **Pembrolizumab** (brand name KEYTRUDA) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) immune checkpoint, blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 and thereby unleashing cytotoxic T cell activity against tumor cells. This combination is currently being studied in phase 1b/2 trials because of the potential for additive or synergistic effects, where Q702 modifies the tumor and its microenvironment to further sensitize or potentiate the clinical effects of PD-1 blockade by pembrolizumab.
