Overview

QDP-PSA-011 + antibiotic is an experimental combination therapy being investigated by the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute for the treatment of chronic periprosthetic joint infection (PJI). The therapy consists of a personalized bacteriophage cocktail, QDP-PSA-011, administered in conjunction with antibiotics. It is being evaluated in a single-patient study for an individual with a hip PJI caused by a multidrug-resistant (MDR) strain of *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* for whom all other treatment options have been exhausted. The therapeutic approach aims to leverage a synergistic antibacterial effect between the bacteriophages and antibiotics to overcome resistance and resolve the chronic infection.
