Overview
Qing'E Formula (QEF) is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine compound developed by the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of menopausal symptoms and postmenopausal osteoporosis. Originating from the Song Dynasty, the formula is a botanical preparation consisting of four primary ingredients: Eucommiae Cortex (*Eucommia ulmoides*), Psoraleae Fructus (*Psoralea corylifolium*), Juglandis Semen (*Juglans regia*), and Garlic Rhizoma. QEF exerts its therapeutic effects through estrogen-like biological activity, specifically targeting estrogen receptors alpha (ERα) and beta (ERβ). It is primarily used to alleviate climacteric syndrome, including hot flushes, and to support bone health in postmenopausal women by tonifying the kidney and strengthening muscle and bone according to traditional Chinese medicine principles.
