Overview
Qingguang'an II decoction is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) multi-herb formulation with decades of clinical application, primarily indicated for glaucomatous optic neuropathy and the preservation of visual function in glaucoma. Studies demonstrate that it promotes optic nerve repair, preserves the visual field in glaucoma, and exerts neuroprotective effects on retinal ganglion cells (RGCs). The mechanism appears to involve attenuation of retinal ganglion cell pyroptosis via inhibition of the TRPV4/NF-κB signaling pathway, modulating inflammation and cell death in glaucomatous injury models[1].
