Overview

This combination therapy pairs Qingyi granule, a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation, with dexamethasone, a potent synthetic glucocorticoid. Developed and extensively researched at The First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, the regimen is primarily indicated for the treatment of acute pancreatitis (AP) and its associated systemic complications, such as acute lung injury (ALI). Qingyi granule is designed to reduce intestinal permeability, inhibit inflammatory cytokine release, and improve microcirculation, while dexamethasone provides rapid, systemic anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by activating the glucocorticoid receptor. Together, they aim to mitigate the cytokine storm and multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) characteristic of severe acute pancreatitis.
