Overview

QL1604 + nab-paclitaxel is a combination therapy currently under investigation for advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma following progression after platinum and fluoropyrimidine doublet therapy[1]. QL1604 is a monoclonal antibody; public scientific information suggests it is a programmed death-1 (PD-1) inhibitor, functioning as an immune checkpoint inhibitor that blocks the PD-1 receptor on T cells, thereby enhancing anti-tumor immune response. Nab-paclitaxel (albumin-bound paclitaxel, ABRAXANE) is a nanoparticle formulation of the anticancer agent paclitaxel, which stabilizes microtubules and inhibits their depolymerization, disrupting cell division and causing tumor cell death[2][3][4][6]. In the clinical trial, patients receive both agents together for several cycles, followed by QL1604 monotherapy if disease progression has not occurred[1].
