Overview

Qu-fu Hua-Yu + Bu-xu Sheng-ji is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) combination therapy. The name suggests it combines two TCM principles or formulas: - "Qu-fu Hua-Yu" refers to dispelling toxins and resolving blood stasis, often used in the context of promoting circulation and reducing inflammation or swelling. - "Bu-xu Sheng-ji" refers to tonifying deficiency and generating flesh, which in TCM means nourishing the body (often Qi or blood) and promoting tissue regeneration or wound healing. This type of combination is typically used for chronic wounds, ulcers, or conditions where both removal of stasis/toxins and promotion of new tissue are needed. Mechanistically, such formulas may act by modulating inflammation, enhancing angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), stimulating fibroblast activity for collagen synthesis, regulating immune responses, and supporting overall tissue repair processes[4]. The specific herbal components can vary but often include herbs like Radix astragali (Astragalus membranaceus), Radix rehmanniae (Rehmannia glutinosa), Salvia miltiorrhiza (Dan Shen), Panax ginseng (Ren Shen), Ganoderma lucidum (Ling Zhi), among others that have demonstrated effects on wound healing through pathways such as upregulation of growth factors like VEGF and TGF-beta1[3][4]. These herbs may also have antioxidant properties and support immune modulation.
