Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Quadracel + M-M-R II + Varivax is a combination immunization regimen evaluated by Sanofi Pasteur for the simultaneous protection against eight diseases: diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella. The regimen consists of **Quadracel** (Diphtheria and Tetanus Toxoids and Acellular Pertussis Adsorbed and Inactivated Poliovirus Vaccine), which is a combination vaccine containing diphtheria and tetanus toxoids, acellular pertussis antigens, and inactivated poliovirus types 1, 2, and 3. This is co-administered with **M-M-R II** (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Virus Vaccine Live) and **Varivax** (Varicella Virus Vaccine Live). The regimen is typically administered to children 4 through 6 years of age as a booster series. Quadracel serves as the fifth dose of the DTaP series and the fourth or fifth dose of the IPV series. The safety and immunogenicity of this concomitant administration were established in Phase 3 clinical trials, supporting the use of Quadracel as a single-injection alternative to separate DTaP and IPV injections when given alongside other routine childhood vaccines.
