Overview

This quadrivalent influenza vaccine is developed by Ningbo Rong'an Biological Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of AIM Vaccine Co., Ltd., using Madin-Darby Canine Kidney (MDCK) cell culture technology. Unlike traditional influenza vaccines produced in chicken embryos, this MDCK cell-based vaccine utilizes mammalian cell culture to grow influenza viruses, which avoids egg-adaptive mutations that can reduce vaccine effectiveness and makes it suitable for individuals with egg allergies. The vaccine is designed to protect against four strains of seasonal influenza, typically including two influenza A subtypes (H1N1 and H3N2) and two influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). It targets the viral hemagglutinin protein to induce neutralizing antibodies and prevent infection. The product has reportedly received clinical trial approval from China's National Medical Products Administration and is listed as approved in the developer's pipeline.
