Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a quadrivalent subunit influenza vaccine (adjuvanted) developed by Jiangsu Ab&B Bio-tech Co., Ltd. It is designed to provide active immunization against four strains of the influenza virus, typically including two Influenza A subtypes (H1N1 and H3N2) and two Influenza B lineages (Victoria and Yamagata). As a subunit vaccine, it contains purified viral proteins, specifically hemagglutinin (HA), rather than the whole virus, which reduces the risk of adverse reactions while maintaining immunogenicity. The vaccine is formulated with an adjuvant (such as the oil-in-water emulsion MF59) to enhance the magnitude and breadth of the immune response, a feature particularly beneficial for older adults (aged 65 and older) who may have a diminished response to standard vaccines due to immunosenescence. It is administered via a single intramuscular injection.
