Drug intelligence / Profile preview
quercetin + DcR2 antagonistic peptide (also known as biomimetic membrane-QU-CDs-DcR2 antagonistic peptide) is an investigational combination therapeutic designed to target and treat acute kidney injury (AKI) and prevent its transition to chronic kidney disease (CKD) [FR-PO0378]. Developed by researchers at the Army Medical University in Chongqing, China, the formulation consists of dual-active quercetin-carbonized quantum dots (Qu-CDs) and a decoy receptor 2 (DcR2) antagonistic peptide [FR-PO0378]. This therapeutic payload is encapsulated within senescent renal tubular cell-derived biomimetic membranes to enhance stability and target homing [FR-PO0378]. The DcR2 antagonistic peptide, screened from phage display libraries, specifically binds to and blocks DcR2 (a TRAIL transmembrane receptor upregulated in injured renal tubular cells), thereby inhibiting tubular senescence and alleviating renal injury [FR-PO0378]. Concurrently, the Qu-CDs provide senolytic/antioxidant activity and enable real-time fluorescence tracing for integrated theranostic applications [FR-PO0378].
