Overview

Qushi Kang'ai Granules is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine, specifically designed for the treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC). The formula is rooted in the TCM theory of clearing heat and removing dampness (Qushi), which is a common therapeutic strategy for patients presenting with the damp-heat syndrome of CRC. It is primarily used as an adjuvant therapy to improve clinical outcomes, reduce post-operative recurrence, and mitigate the side effects of chemotherapy. Pharmacological studies suggest that Qushi Kang'ai Granules exerts its anti-tumor effects by inhibiting the Wnt/beta-catenin and PI3K/Akt signaling pathways, thereby inducing apoptosis and suppressing the proliferation of cancer cells. Additionally, it has been shown to modulate the gut microbiota and the tumor immune microenvironment. The preparation is typically administered orally in granule form.
