Overview
Qushi Kang'ai Recipe (QSKAF) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formula developed by Longhua Hospital affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is primarily investigated as an adjuvant therapy for patients with stage II and III colorectal cancer following radical surgery. The formula is designed based on the TCM principle of "dispelling dampness and resisting cancer," specifically targeting the "damp-heat" syndrome common in gastrointestinal malignancies. Research suggests that QSKAF may help prevent tumor recurrence and metastasis by inhibiting cancer cell proliferation, inducing apoptosis, and modulating the immune microenvironment. Preclinical studies have indicated that its mechanism of action may involve the regulation of the Syk/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. The recipe typically consists of several botanical ingredients, including *Scutellaria barbata*, *Oldenlandia diffusa*, and *Coix lacryma-jobi*.
