R-(+)-8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin is the R-enantiomer of 8-OH-DPAT, a synthetic small molecule and research tool compound primarily recognized as a **full agonist at the serotonin 1A (5-HT1A) receptor**, and also acts as an agonist at 5-HT7 receptors and as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor and releasing agent. It is structurally an aminotetralin derivative and has been used extensively to probe serotonergic pharmacology in animal models. The compound induces a variety of serotonergic effects, including antidepressant, anxiolytic, hypothermic, hypotensive, and other CNS-related activities. It has not been developed or marketed as a therapeutic drug, but is widely used in preclinical pharmacological research to understand the function of serotonergic systems.[1][3][5][8][10]
