Drug intelligence / Profile preview
r-FSH + HP-hMG is a combination therapy consisting of recombinant follicle-stimulating hormone (r-FSH) and highly purified human menopausal gonadotrophin (HP-hMG). This combination is used for controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) in women undergoing assisted reproductive technologies, such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) or oocyte donation. r-FSH provides pure FSH activity to stimulate the recruitment and growth of multiple ovarian follicles, while HP-hMG provides both FSH and luteinizing hormone (LH) activity, which may support follicular development and steroidogenesis. The combination is often evaluated to determine if the addition of LH activity from hMG improves oocyte yield or quality compared to r-FSH alone. This specific regimen was studied by the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad (IVI Valencia) in oocyte donors.
