This sequential therapy regimen is a 14-day treatment protocol developed for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection, particularly in regions with high antibiotic resistance. The regimen is divided into two distinct phases: an initial 7-day induction phase consisting of a proton pump inhibitor (rabeprazole) and a beta-lactam antibiotic (amoxicillin), followed by a 7-day eradication phase that adds a macrolide (clarithromycin) and a nitroimidazole (tinidazole). The first phase aims to reduce the bacterial load and disrupt the bacterial cell wall, which theoretically enhances the efficacy of the antibiotics introduced in the second phase. Rabeprazole serves to increase gastric pH, thereby improving the stability and activity of the co-administered antibiotics. This specific combination and sequence were evaluated by Shandong University in a Phase 4 clinical trial to compare its efficacy against modified triple therapy regimens.
