This is a **triple therapy combination** of three pharmaceuticals: **rabeprazole**, a proton pump inhibitor; **amoxicillin**, a beta-lactam antibiotic; and **metronidazole**, a nitroimidazole antibiotic and antiprotozoal. The combination is primarily indicated for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* infection and related gastrointestinal conditions, such as gastric and duodenal ulcer, and gastritis. Rabeprazole decreases gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the gastric H+/K+-ATPase (proton pump), thus increasing gastric pH and improving antibiotic activity and stability. Amoxicillin inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins, causing bacterial lysis. Metronidazole disrupts DNA synthesis in anaerobic bacteria and protozoa by generating reactive intermediates.
