Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cintasol-R is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed by Solariz Healthcare, containing the proton pump inhibitor rabeprazole (20 mg) and the prokinetic agent cinitapride (3 mg) in a sustained-release formulation. Rabeprazole acts by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion. Cinitapride is a substituted benzamide that enhances gastrointestinal motility by acting as a selective 5-HT4 receptor agonist and a 5-HT2 receptor antagonist, while also possessing 5-HT1 receptor agonist activity. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and functional dyspepsia, where both acid suppression and improved gastric emptying are therapeutically beneficial.
