Overview

This drug is a fixed-dose combination regimen consisting of four active pharmaceutical ingredients: rabeprazole (a proton pump inhibitor), minocycline (a tetracycline-class antibiotic), amoxicillin (a penicillin-class antibiotic), and colloidal bismuth pectin (a gastroprotective agent). It is used as a first-line or second-line treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection. The mechanism of action involves suppression of gastric acid secretion by rabeprazole to enhance the efficacy of antibiotics; direct antibacterial effects against H. pylori by minocycline and amoxicillin; and mucosal protection plus additional antimicrobial activity from colloidal bismuth pectin. This combination aims to overcome resistance issues associated with other regimens, especially in regions where tetracycline or metronidazole are less available or have higher resistance rates. Clinical studies have shown satisfactory eradication rates and good safety profiles for this regimen[1][6][2].
