Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This rabies vaccine is an inactivated viral vaccine produced using human diploid cells (HDCV) and a fixed bioreactor culture system. Developed by Chengdu Kanghua Biological Products, it represents a next-generation formulation of their existing human diploid cell rabies vaccine technology. The use of a fixed bioreactor system is designed to optimize cell growth and virus yield compared to traditional microcarrier or roller bottle methods, potentially ensuring higher purity and batch-to-batch consistency. The vaccine is intended for the prevention of rabies in humans through the induction of neutralizing antibodies, suitable for both pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
