The vaccine is derived from the brain tissue of suckling mice, which is then inactivated and lyophilized for stability. It is indicated for both pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylaxis against rabies in humans. While cell-culture-derived vaccines are the current international standard, this tissue-derived formulation remains a critical part of the local production portfolio in Algeria to ensure the availability of rabies prevention measures.
