Overview

This is a combination therapy that includes radiotherapy, two chemotherapeutic agents (etoposide and cisplatin), and recombinant human endostatin. The combination is used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), particularly for inoperable Stage III disease. Cisplatin and etoposide are administered concurrently with radiotherapy to target both local tumor control and potential micrometastases. Recombinant human endostatin is an angiogenesis inhibitor that may potentiate radiation effects by inhibiting tumor blood vessel formation. The standard treatment approach involves cisplatin (50 mg/m²) on days 1, 8, 29, and 36 with etoposide (50 mg/m²) on days 1-5 and 29-33, concurrent with thoracic radiotherapy delivered at 180 cGy/day for a total dose of 6480 cGy.
