Radium-226 + Radium-228 refers to a natural-isotope radioisotope platform developed by Chengdu New Radiomedicine Technology (NRT). This platform focuses on the extraction and utilization of naturally occurring radium isotopes as precursors for the production of therapeutic alpha-emitting radionuclides. Radium-226 is a long-lived isotope that serves as a critical target for the generation of Actinium-225 via proton irradiation in cyclotrons. Radium-228 is utilized in the production of Thorium-228, which subsequently decays to Radium-224. These isotopes are foundational to NRT's targeted alpha therapy (TAT) and radioligand therapy (RLT) pipeline, providing the radioactive payloads necessary to induce double-stranded DNA breaks in cancer cells when conjugated to tumor-targeting ligands.
