ramosetron + ondansetron + dexamethasone

This is a combination drug consisting of ramosetron, ondansetron, and dexamethasone. Ramosetron and ondansetron are both selective serotonin 5-hydroxytryptamine type 3 (5-HT3) receptor antagonists that act as antiemetics by blocking serotonin receptors in the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract, thereby preventing nausea and vomiting. Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant properties; it also enhances the antiemetic efficacy of 5-HT3 antagonists through mechanisms that are not fully understood but may involve inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis or reduction in blood-brain barrier permeability to emetogenic substances. This triple combination would be expected to provide broad-spectrum prophylaxis against chemotherapy-induced or postoperative nausea and vomiting by targeting multiple emetic pathways.
