RC148 + carboplatin + paclitaxel is a combination therapy regimen being evaluated for the first-line treatment of advanced squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The regimen consists of RC148, a bispecific antibody developed by RemeGen that simultaneously targets the Programmed Cell Death-1 (PD-1) receptor and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), combined with the cytotoxic chemotherapy agents carboplatin and paclitaxel. By blocking PD-1, RC148 restores T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity, while its anti-VEGF component inhibits tumor angiogenesis and may further normalize the tumor microenvironment. Carboplatin acts as a DNA alkylating agent to induce apoptosis, and paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules to arrest the cell cycle. This combination is currently in Phase III clinical trials, where it is being compared against Tislelizumab plus chemotherapy. In 2026, AbbVie secured exclusive rights to develop and commercialize RC148 outside of Greater China.
