Overview

This combination therapy consists of **recaticimab (SHR-1209)**, a humanized immunoglobulin G1 monoclonal antibody that targets **proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9)**, administered alongside standard **lipid-lowering agents** (primarily statins such as atorvastatin). Recaticimab binds PCSK9 with high affinity, preventing its interaction with LDL receptors and thereby increasing LDL receptor recycling, which lowers plasma LDL cholesterol. The combination, studied as add-on therapy, has demonstrated dose-dependent and sustained reductions in LDL-C levels in patients with hypercholesterolemia or mixed hyperlipidemia, with favorable outcomes observed in other lipid parameters and an overall safety profile comparable to placebo. Developed primarily for long-term management of dyslipidemia and potential reduction of cardiovascular risk[1][2][3][5].
