**Recombinant follicle stimulating hormone + ganirelix** is a combination regimen used during assisted reproductive technology (ART), particularly in in vitro fertilization (IVF) protocols. Recombinant follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is a synthetic version of the naturally occurring hormone that stimulates ovarian follicle development in women and spermatogenesis in men. Ganirelix is a synthetic decapeptide and a competitive antagonist of the gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor, used to prevent premature luteinizing hormone (LH) surges during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation. By combining these agents, clinicians are able to promote follicular growth while tightly controlling ovulation timing, increasing the probability of retrieving multiple mature oocytes for ART procedures.
