Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombinant H7 hemagglutinin influenza vaccine + Advax-1 adjuvant is an investigational monovalent subunit vaccine candidate developed by Vaxine Pty Ltd for the prevention of H7N9 avian influenza. The vaccine utilizes a recombinant H7 hemagglutinin (HA) protein, typically expressed in a baculovirus system, as the primary antigen to elicit neutralizing antibodies. It is formulated with Advax-1, a proprietary adjuvant composed of delta-inulin (a crystalline isoform of inulin). Advax-1 acts as a potent immune enhancer that stimulates both Th1 and Th2 pathways and memory T-cell responses without inducing the excessive local inflammation or reactogenicity often seen with traditional adjuvants. The combination has been evaluated in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials to address the pandemic threat posed by H7N9 viruses.
