Overview

This is a combination therapy consisting of recombinant human adenovirus type 5 (Ad5) and camrelizumab. Recombinant human adenovirus type 5 is typically used as an oncolytic virus or gene therapy vector, engineered to selectively infect and lyse tumor cells or deliver therapeutic genes, thereby stimulating antitumor immune responses. Camrelizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells, blocking its interaction with PD-L1/PD-L2 and enhancing immune-mediated tumor cell killing. The combination aims to synergistically enhance antitumor immunity by both directly lysing cancer cells (adenovirus) and relieving immune suppression in the tumor microenvironment (camrelizumab). This approach is under investigation for various cancers, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma.
