Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of three agents with distinct mechanisms of action, primarily investigated for cancer treatment: **Recombinant human adenovirus type 5** is an engineered viral vector used in gene therapy and oncolytic virotherapy. It can selectively infect and lyse tumor cells or deliver therapeutic genes to target tissues[8]. **Camrelizumab** is a selective, humanized IgG4 kappa monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor on T cells. By blocking PD-1 interaction with its ligands (PD-L1/PD-L2), it inhibits immune checkpoint signaling, thereby enhancing T-cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity[1][2][3][4][5]. Camrelizumab has demonstrated efficacy in several cancers and is approved in China for hepatocellular carcinoma, Hodgkin’s lymphoma, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, and non-small cell lung cancer[2]. **Nab-paclitaxel (nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel)** is a formulation of the chemotherapeutic agent paclitaxel bound to albumin nanoparticles. This enhances drug delivery to tumors via albumin-mediated transport pathways. Paclitaxel stabilizes microtubules and inhibits their disassembly during cell division, leading to apoptosis of rapidly dividing tumor cells. The combination leverages direct cytotoxicity from nab-paclitaxel, immune activation from camrelizumab’s checkpoint inhibition, and potential oncolytic or gene-modifying effects from recombinant adenovirus vectors.
