Drug intelligence / Profile preview
EGF/bFGF is a combination biologic therapy under development by Uni-Bio Science Group. It consists of recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) and recombinant human basic fibroblast growth factor (rhbFGF) formulated within a hydrogel delivery system. The therapy is designed to synergistically promote wound healing by activating the EGF receptor (EGFR) and FGF receptor (FGFR) pathways, which stimulate cell proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis. Targeted indications include burns, refractory wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, and skin recovery following laser procedures. The hydrogel formulation provides a moist environment and potentially protects the growth factors from degradation, enhancing their therapeutic efficacy in complex wound environments.
