Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Recombinant Human Lactoferrin and Lysozyme Oral Solution (HY1002) is a biologic combination therapy developed by Wuhan Healthgen Biotechnology for the treatment of rotavirus-induced infectious diarrhea in children. It consists of two recombinant human proteins—lactoferrin and lysozyme—produced using a plant-based expression system (OryzHiExp). Lactoferrin provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antiviral activity while modulating the immune response and protecting the intestinal mucosa. Lysozyme acts by hydrolyzing bacterial cell walls and exhibits synergistic antiviral effects. The drug is currently in Phase II clinical development in China.
