Overview

Gendicine + camrelizumab is a combination therapy consisting of an oncolytic-like gene therapy and a checkpoint inhibitor. Gendicine (recombinant human p53 adenovirus) is a replication-deficient adenoviral vector that delivers the wild-type p53 gene directly into tumor cells, aiming to restore the p53 pathway, induce apoptosis, and increase the sensitivity of the tumor to other treatments. Camrelizumab is a humanized IgG4 monoclonal antibody that targets the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) receptor, preventing its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2 to enhance T-cell mediated anti-tumor responses. This combination is primarily being investigated by the Shenzhen Hospital of Southern Medical University for the treatment of recurrent or metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), leveraging the potential of p53 expression to modulate the tumor microenvironment and improve the efficacy of PD-1 blockade.
