Recombinant human serum albumin + growth hormone fusion protein (rHSA-GH) is a long-acting biologic fusion protein developed by Zhejiang Younuo Gold Bioengineering for the treatment of pediatric growth hormone deficiency. The drug consists of human growth hormone (hGH), a 191-amino acid polypeptide, genetically fused to recombinant human serum albumin (rHSA). This fusion leverages the long circulatory half-life of albumin to extend the duration of action of the growth hormone, thereby reducing the required dosing frequency from daily to weekly or less frequent subcutaneous injections. rHSA-GH acts as an agonist at the growth hormone receptor (GHR), stimulating the production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and promoting linear growth and metabolic regulation. It has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in China to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy volunteers.
