The recombinant respiratory syncytial virus vaccine (CHO cells) is a protein subunit vaccine developed by Xiamen Wan Tai (Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy) for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine is composed of the RSV fusion (F) protein, which is a key surface glycoprotein responsible for viral entry and a primary target for neutralizing antibodies. This antigen is produced using a Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell expression system, a standard platform for complex recombinant proteins. By administering the recombinant F protein, the vaccine aims to elicit a robust immune response, specifically inducing neutralizing antibodies that prevent the virus from infecting host cells. As of March 2026, the candidate has received Investigational New Drug (IND) approval and is in Phase 1 clinical development.
