Recombinant Zoster Vaccine (CHO Cell) is an investigational recombinant subunit vaccine developed by MAXVAX Biotechnology for the prevention of herpes zoster (shingles) in adults aged 40 years and older. The vaccine utilizes the varicella-zoster virus (VZV) glycoprotein E (gE) as its primary antigen, which is expressed in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells. It is formulated with the proprietary MA105 adjuvant system to enhance the immune response. Administered via intramuscular injection in a two-dose schedule (0 and 2 months), the vaccine is currently in Phase III clinical trials in China to evaluate its efficacy, safety, immunogenicity, and lot-to-lot consistency of commercial-scale production batches.
