Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Prosemble's reformulated docetaxel is a nanoparticle-based delivery system of the established taxane chemotherapy agent, docetaxel. Developed by Prosemble, this formulation aims to enhance the therapeutic index of docetaxel by improving tumor-specific delivery and reducing systemic toxicities associated with conventional solvent-based formulations (like polysorbate 80). As a microtubule stabilizer, docetaxel binds to tubulin, promoting its assembly into microtubules and inhibiting their disassembly, which leads to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and subsequent apoptosis. The program is currently in the preclinical stage for the treatment of various solid tumors, including breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, gastric cancer, and head and neck cancers.
