Overview

A combination of **regular human insulin** and **recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20** that is used to accelerate and increase the absorption and dispersion of subcutaneously administered insulin. Recombinant human hyaluronidase PH20 (rHuPH20) is an engineered enzyme that locally depolymerizes hyaluronan in the extracellular matrix of subcutaneous tissue, thereby reducing resistance to fluid flow, increasing capillary access, and enhancing uptake of co-administered drugs such as insulin. This combination is being developed as an ultrafast prandial insulin formulation for diabetes mellitus, aiming to mimic physiological insulin response more closely than standard insulin injections and to improve postprandial glycemic control by enabling more rapid insulin absorption and action. rHuPH20 is not itself a therapeutic but is used as a drug delivery enhancer[1][2][3][4][5].
