Overview

This drug is a combination of three agents: **relatlimab** (a monoclonal antibody targeting LAG-3), **nivolumab** (a monoclonal antibody targeting PD-1), and **paclitaxel** (a microtubule inhibitor chemotherapeutic). Relatlimab and nivolumab are immune checkpoint inhibitors that enhance T-cell mediated immune responses against tumor cells by blocking inhibitory signaling pathways (LAG-3 and PD-1, respectively), while paclitaxel disrupts mitosis by stabilizing microtubules, leading to apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. This combination is being investigated primarily as a first-line treatment for advanced or recurrent cancers, such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), in combination with platinum doublet chemotherapy[1][6]. The goal is to synergize immunotherapy and chemotherapy to improve response rates and survival compared to standard regimens.
