Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Remune + Amplivax is an experimental therapeutic HIV vaccine combination composed of Remune—a whole-killed HIV-1 antigen (gp120-depleted inactivated HIV-1)—administered with Amplivax, an immunostimulatory adjuvant (HYB2055), often formulated in Incomplete Freund's Adjuvant (IFA)[1][3][5]. Remune aims to induce HIV-specific T-cell responses, increase cytokine and chemokine production to inhibit viral attachment, reduce viral load, increase CD4+ and CD8+ T cell counts, and potentially delay the need for highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) initiation, especially for drug-naïve patients or those with multi-drug resistance[1][2][3][6]. Amplivax acts as a powerful immunological adjuvant to boost vaccine efficacy. The combination is primarily investigated in HIV-infected adults, including both treatment-naïve and experienced patients. Developed and tested by Immune Response BioPharma in multicenter phase I/II and phase III studies, Remune + Amplivax has shown a dose-dependent, robust immune activation and favorable tolerance profile, with no serious adverse events reported in trials[1][2][3][5]. The vaccine's mechanism involves enhancing both cellular and humoral immunity against HIV.
