Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Abrysvo + Shingrix refers to the coadministration of two distinct vaccines: Pfizer's Abrysvo (RSVpreF) and GSK's Shingrix (HZ/su). Abrysvo is a bivalent recombinant protein subunit vaccine designed to prevent respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection by targeting the prefusion F protein of both RSV A and B subgroups. Shingrix is a recombinant zoster vaccine containing the varicella-zoster virus (VZV) glycoprotein E (gE) antigen combined with the AS01B adjuvant system, used to prevent herpes zoster (shingles) and postherpetic neuralgia. The simultaneous administration of these vaccines is being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials (e.g., NCT05842967) to assess safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in adults aged 50 and older, aiming to improve vaccination compliance by reducing the number of healthcare visits required for immunization.
